Lakesh’s Unforgettable Trek & Hidden Himalayan Adventure

I still get goosebumps every time I remember this place. Hi, I’m Lakesh, and I visited Rajgundha Valley in October 2025. This solo trip became one of the most peaceful and beautiful experiences of my life “Lakesh Verma”

How I Reached Rajgundha Valley

I took a night bus to Bir and stayed there for one night. Early next morning, I hired a taxi to Billing. From the famous Billing Take-off point, my trek to Rajgundha Valley began. The 12–14 km trail from Billing to Rajgundha Valley was moderate and incredibly scenic. Dense pine forests, small waterfalls, wildflower meadows, and constant views of the Dhauladhar mountains kept me energized. After almost 5.5 hours, I crossed Chaina Pass and finally entered Rajgundha Valley. The moment I stepped into the valley, I was speechless. Wide green meadows, traditional wooden houses, the sound of the Uhl River, and complete silence — no tourist crowd, no vehicles, just pure Himalayan magic.

My Stay & First Night in Rajgundha Valley

I stayed at a lovely Gaddi family homestay in Rajgundha Valley. The wooden room was cozy and smelled of fresh pine. In the evening, we lit a bonfire. The family cooked hot Siddu and local Mandra for dinner. As the night grew darker, the sky exploded with stars. I saw the Milky Way so clearly for the first time in my life. I slept outside in my sleeping bag for a few hours just to stare at the sky.

Exploring Rajgundha Valley

Next morning I woke up before sunrise. The golden light on the snow peaks of Dhauladhar was breathtaking. After breakfast, I did a short trek to Plachak Valley. The trail was easy and filled with birds and flowers. I also wandered through Rajgundha and Kukkar Gundha villages. The locals were extremely warm. An old shepherd shared stories about their seasonal migration with sheep. Children followed me asking for chocolates. The simplicity and kindness of people in Rajgundha Valley touched my heart. In the afternoon, I sat by the Uhl River, dipped my feet in the cold water, and just soaked in the peace. No network, no notifications — only nature and me.

Why Rajgundha Valley is Special

What I loved most about Rajgundha Valley is that it is still untouched. Unlike Bir-Billing, which is now very crowded, Rajgundha Valley feels raw, peaceful, and authentic. Trekking, camping, village life, and stargazing — everything in one place. I stayed 3 days and 2 nights. When it was time to leave, I didn’t want to go back.
